Amber Mason
Founder- President
Nona Fear began when I noticed a gap in our local youth running opportunities. Many run clubs started later in the evening, often finishing after dark, and I wanted to create a safer, more encouraging environment where kids could challenge themselves and enjoy friendly competition.
At the same time, I was on my own health and fitness journey and discovered how much running can improve confidence, resilience, discipline, and mental strength. I wanted to share those lessons with my own children and other kids in our community.
What started as a small group of kids running together has grown into a thriving community where children are encouraged to set goals, celebrate personal bests, support one another, and discover what they're capable of achieving.
Today, Nona Fear is about more than running—it's about building confident, resilient kids who aren't afraid to work hard, face challenges, and believe in themselves.
No Fear. No Excuses.
Our Team
Tom Moscato
Vice Chair
After moving to Lake Nona from Rochester NY, Tom quickly became one of the most recognizable and involved members of the Laureate Park community. A proud grandfather, he spends much of his time supporting his two grandchildren in their many activities and sports.
Tom's involvement with Nona Fear helped spark his grandson's passion for running. What started with Monday night run club has grown into AAU Track competition, with his grandson now competing at the regional level.
Known by many as the "Mayor of Laureate Park," Tom is a true community builder. From organizing the annual Christmas Parade and coaching youth flag football to coordinating neighborhood gatherings and bringing families together, he is always looking for ways to strengthen the community.
As Vice Chair of Nona Fear, Tom plays a vital role in supporting the club's mission and encouraging kids to put down their screens, challenge themselves, and experience the rewards of healthy competition. His energy, dedication, and passion for youth development make him an invaluable part of the Nona Fear family.
Mary Paske
Treasurer
Mary Paske is a passionate advocate for health, fitness, and leading by example. As a mother of two, she has made it a priority to show her children the importance of staying active and embracing healthy habits.
An avid supporter of running, Mary and her son have made a commitment to run a 5K together each month, turning fitness into a shared family goal and creating memories along the way.
In addition to her dedication to an active lifestyle, Mary brings valuable professional experience and organizational expertise to Nona Fear. Her attention to detail and ability to keep things running smoothly help ensure the club remains organized, efficient, and focused on its mission.
We are grateful for Mary's support and her commitment to encouraging kids to stay active, challenge themselves, and discover the confidence that comes from movement and achievement.
David Mason
Director Operations
David Mason serves as Nona Fear's Director of Operations and is often the first person to jump in when something needs to get done. While running may not have been his first choice of activity, supporting his family, encouraging his children, and helping young athletes grow has become one of his greatest passions.
As a devoted husband, David has been one of Nona Fear's biggest supporters from the beginning, embracing the vision and helping turn ideas into reality. He believes in the importance of keeping kids active, building confidence, and creating opportunities for them to challenge themselves alongside their friends.
A lifelong sports fan, David proudly supports Indiana University athletics and his beloved Chicago sports teams. His passion for sports extends beyond being a fan, as he coaches his son's flag football team, the Bears. Through coaching, he has witnessed firsthand the growth that comes from teamwork, competition, and positive encouragement. Watching kids develop confidence, friendships, and life skills through sports has become one of his favorite parts of community involvement.
Known for his outgoing personality and ability to bring energy wherever he goes, David plays a key role in organizing Nona Fear's events and creating an environment where families feel welcome and connected. He is proud to be part of the Laureate Park community and grateful to help build opportunities that bring families together and inspire kids to be their best.
